Post Random Photos---Last Post :(--The Duchess of Blogness

Saying good bye to new friends

This was a great vacation and want to say thank you to all of you who made it special for us.
Especially to Richard, who made sure I always had coffee and a bathroom. And to Paul, who navigated us all those miles through all those and made sure I never got lost.

Good Bye to Norwich and make sure to keep the light on and the doors open as we will be back.

The question still lingers-Does Nessie exist and did we find her?

I sure did, she was in Brenda's backyard all along.
I never got to see an Emo Cow while in Scotland but did find a painting of one.

Kings Arms-Last night Out

We traveled down this dark and winding road to the Kings Arms for the second time. It was wonderful.
We went with Su, Scott, Andrew, and Richard. They were wonderful hosts and I hope to see them again soon.

Tears are getting harder to hold back

I fell in love with one of Su's dogs, Gabrielle. He would play with me in the backyard most mornings.
He is a bearded collie.

We spent the last day going through the Norwich Castle and took the dungeon tour. It was pretty intense when you hear the history.

Shopping till we dropped

The guys were very patient with me as I was on a shoe mission, for two days. I found the perfect pair, I mean three perfect pairs. I was in shoe paradise.
They carried bags of all kinds up and down the market. They even were patient enough as I returned some knickers to Marks and Spencers. I was a little embarrassed but it had to be done as we were leaving.

We had dinner with Brenda, her grandaughter, her boyfriend, Richard, Jean and Lord Tony. Yes, a real Lord.

Days are limited and reality is setting in.

A couple more shots from Wells.

continued post-3am California time-wish I could sleep;)

We drove the coastline and came upon this windmill, just gorgeous. Oh, and the weather was fabulous.
We ended up stopping in Wells-Next-the-Sea and headed for lunch.
This is a photo from the top floor.

Let me catch you up

On Saturday, we picked up Brenda and Richard and took off to Cromer. It's a beautiful coast.

Where is Sarah Jordan?

Hi Sarah,

Just wanted to say hi and ask you to post so I know you're okay. I sent you some money today as well.

Love and see you soon,
Mom

Loch Ness, bait, and the search for Nessie

I am not sure the video worked, sorry. The boys made it to the fishing hole while I nursed my cold.
The search was now on for Fort  Williams.

The Angel of the North

Today, friday, we spent most of the day sleeping as the drive from Edinburgh to Norwich was grueling and I thought I would lose my mind between the traffic and the rain. We got to Su and Andrews safely and stayed in bed till half past ten. After of which we shopped till we dropped.

Signing off for now.

Oh by the way, I bought the cutest pair of shoes today and cannot wait to wear them.

The Duchess of Blogness.......more to come as the trip is winding up

Cheers!

The duck photo was just one of my favorites. As I said, we traveled on to Edinburgh and fell fastly asleep as I was still pretty sick.
Before Edinburgh we fell upon this castle at the end of a penninsula, looking down this higgaldy piggaldy road.

We stopped along the shore of the North Sea and stopped for a photo opportunity. i found some shells in the tide pools and then let them go. Richard continued to fish and Paul looked after us both.

Hello from Norwich

I know it has been a bit but here we are back in Norwich. The drive from Ft. Williams all the way to Edinburgh was beautiful. The sun has followed us every where we have gone. So go you naysayers of weather in the UK. We have definitely been blessed.
It was good for fishing so the boys thought. We stayed here for a while and packed back up in the car and off we went.

Continued Post in Inverness and Loch Ness

We left Inverness on a search for a bait shop to fish in Loch Ness and started traveling around to Loch.

This is the castle on Loch Ness.

Here is a small video of the Lake, I hope this works :)

On to Loch Ness and find the monster I will!!

We have now been on the road for two days and have made it to Inverness. To the naysayers in the group who thought we were crazy for traveling to Scotland in the fall, the weather has been stunning. We have not had one day of rain and the sun has been out every day. I will say it is chilly but that's what your coat is for, right?

This was the worst of the weather but it was always missing us but we got to see the rainbow and Paul's favorite road sign (in bottom right corner), cameras for excess speeding.

We walked qute a bit and Richard is quite the tour guide. Here's a couple of photos of the city. I am a little off my game as I came down with a terrible cold so I am heavily medicated and have tissues in every pocket.

My what a lovely sporran you are wearing?

Well, we are back. On Monday we had made it to Edinburgh. The drive around the city to find parking was a little taxing on the nerves but we finally parked and found our way up to the castle.

I found three fine young Scots to hang out with:

We made it. The three muskateers made it through the  Sherwood Forest. The Travelodge
welcomed us with open arms. the sun went down with this beautiful swirly, cotton candy show.

today we are off to the Edinburgh castle so that I can finally site see. Paul thinks we can make it all the way up to Loch Ness. I told him I am not here for a car ride.

Here's one from the Adam and Eve pub, note the door behind us and how short it is. This is the entrance. Hope everyone out there is doing well.

Edinburgh-what a trip!

I have to say that this has been a long day. It didn't start off very well as I haven't slept through the night yet, so I am a little punchy at this point. The boys have been behaving themselves up to now.

We crossed through the Scotland border, here is the proof.

Here is one for the family,
